Why Shallow Feeders Work for Brachycephalic Dogs

Flat-faced breeds — brachycephalic dogs like pugs, French bulldogs, bulldogs, and Boston terriers — have difficulty reaching food in deep bowls due to their shortened snouts. Shallow slow feeder trays provide the perfect depth: easy to reach but still textured enough to slow eating, reduce gulping, and provide mental enrichment at every meal.

The Softest Slow Feeder in the Lineup

The SodaPup Sunflower Softie eTray is a premium shallow slow feeder dog bowl that marries the beauty of a sunflower design with the practicality of SodaPup's softest TPE formulation and suction-cup stability. The sunflower petals radiate outward from a detailed center, creating a landscape of channels and texture zones that distribute food and extend mealtime — while the ultra-soft material ensures the gentlest possible surface for brachycephalic noses, puppy mouths, and senior dogs with dental sensitivity.

Non-slip feet keep the tray exactly where you put it — no chasing it across the kitchen floor — making it ideal for dogs who paw at or push their bowl. Fill it with peanut butter, bone broth, pureed sweet potato, or your dog's regular wet food and freeze it for an enrichment session that can last 15–20 minutes. Available in sunlit Yellow and soft Pastel Purple — because slow feeding should be as joyful as it is functional.
